Gold, champagne and neutral holiday picks and greenery sorted and organized for a custom Christmas tree design.

When you hire a holiday designer, installation day feels like magic. You leave in the morning, come home to a beautifully transformed space, and wonder how it all came together so seamlessly.

But the truth is this: by the time installation day arrives, we’ve already been working for months.

This is simply the final stretch — the last layer of preparation that ensures everything goes smoothly on the day we step into you

r home.

30 Days Out — Finalizing the Vision

By now, your design has moved from concept to commitment.

We revisit and refine:

• color palette

• ribbon combinations

• florals and accents

• topper approach

• ornament scale and texture

• any custom elements

Every decision is now grounded in your home’s architecture, lighting, and personality. This is where the plan becomes your plan.

3–4 Weeks Out — Confirming Inventory

This is when we make sure the design we imagined can be fully executed — with nothing left to chance.

Holiday decor shipments, boxes and bubble-wrapped ornaments staged and ready for a professional holiday installation.

We:

• review every ribbon bolt

• verify florals and sprays

• check ornament counts by size and finish

• confirm topper elements

• identify low stock or backordered items

And here’s the part few people think about:

Bow-making begins — and yes, it takes time.

Each bow is measured, layered, wired, trimmed, and shaped by hand.Luxury ribbon work is not a day-of activity — it’s a craft done in advance so every loop and tail falls exactly where it’s meant to.

If a vendor suddenly sells out or delays a shipment, we adapt quietly — long before installation day is impacted.

2–3 Weeks Out — Filling the Gaps

Even the most thoughtfully planned design benefits from refinement.

At this stage we:

• add secondary textures

• refine ornament depth

• enhance toppers or mantle treatments

• source replacements if items are no longer available

And yes — ribbon work continues here too. It’s the difference between decorating on a tree and designing into it.

Selections are no longer theoretical — they are curated specifically for your space.

1–2 Weeks Out — Prep Becomes Logistics

With the design complete, we shift into execution mode.

We:

• assemble tools

• gather hardware and adhesives

• pull safety gear

• organize what travels to your home

• confirm ornament groupings and layout

• revisit notes about ceiling height, room flow, and access

This is where quiet planning turns into practical readiness.

48 Hours Out — Designer + Client Sync

Pre-lit Christmas tree with a starburst topper base assembled in preparation for a full luxury holiday installation.

A polished installation requires partnership. To protect your time (and ours), we ask that certain pieces are in place.

Designer Checklist

• confirm address, access, and time window

• re-review installation notes

• ensure ribbon, picks, and toppers are prepped

• charge devices for before/after documentation

• pack tools and supplies

• confirm driving route, parking, and load-in

Client Checklist

• Tree is assembled (if client-owned)

• Lights are functioning (or agreed-upon for us to handle)

• Furniture is cleared in advance

• Pets are secured

• Entry pathway and working area are accessible

• HOA, gate, or building access approved if required

Your readiness ensures we can arrive and begin designing immediately — not rearranging your room.

Installation Day — The Part You See

Install day is the finale — not the beginning.

This is where everything comes together:

• layered ribbon

• curated ornament placement

• balanced scale and rhythm

• florals and picks for depth

• toppers built to suit ceiling height and style

• finishing touches

• full cleanup before we leave

It may look effortless — but it’s the result of months of sourcing, planning, and preparation.

Why This Matters

Boutique holiday design isn’t spontaneous.

Your installation reflects:

• choices made months in advance

• sourcing trips

• vendor scouting

• inventory management

• bow-making

• prep work

• logistic planning

• and final-mile execution

Clients often see the three hours in their living room.

We see the three - six months before it.

That’s the luxury: by the time we step foot in your home, every decision has already been made — and the only thing left for you to do is enjoy the season.
